In seinem Beitrag für den neuseeländischen Pavillon anlässlich der 50. Biennale von Venedig untersucht Michael Stevenson die Geschichte des in den 60er Jahren Neuseeland angepriesenen, hoffnungslos erfolglosen »Trekka«, eines vermeintlichen Geländewagens auf Skoda-Chassis, der nur 2.300 mal verkauft wurde und auf tragikomische Weise die ökonomischen Strategien Neuseelands während des Kalten Krieges widerspiegelt.
