Funky Projects b
Asier Pérez's body of work is an endeavour to stake out a domain that encompasses artistic practice, the radius of its action (the public, institutions, critics and their social perception) and the sphere of 'life' understood through the economy, that is to say, trade. In a loose and broad sense, the economy could be viewed as a practice that seeks to define the tradable value of things and even of human actions. In contrast, art has historically sought to remain outside the orbit of the sphere of utility, thereby championing the superior sphere of the symbolic.
IVolatile Environments is structured by projects but also by blocks definition of the type of agents taking part in each one of the projects (Clients, Legal & Financial Advisors, Media, Partners, Providers, Staff and Users). The book becomes some kind of annuary or directory where the projects are presented in relation to the social networks they have generated. Clients presents a description of each project, Media an interview that Octavi Rofes does to Asier Pérez, Staff Monica Degen's contribution and Users by Hansjerg Maier-Aichen.
The main idea was not present the projects in a chronological narrative way and create a logic that fits to the type of projects presented.www.funkyprojects.com/volatileenvironments
