The project "Hurts So Good" in Vilnius presented the show of 13 young artists, having recently graduated the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. The artists presented video works as well as video documentation of their live performances. Jan van Eyck Academy is one of the most famous art schools. It is distinct for the intensive interdisciplinary research, carried out in and between the fields of fine arts, design and theory. Being a "post-academic" educational institution, it rather focuses on the research and possibilities of the collaborative processes than on the "learning" as perceived in the casual sense of this word. Therefore, CAC was eager to introduce the specific approach and distinctness of the academic method of Jan van Eyck Academy to the broader public. The presentation of Vilnius Academy of Arts simultaneously took place at the centre. Since the exhibition "Hurts So Good" had no overall theme, another important part of the project is a catalogue, contextualizing the works shown and introducing the artists to the public. It contains interviews with each artist as well as in introductory text by Steve Rushton. Besides being an essential part of the show, it is also a remarkable piece of literature and design.
