"Beate Köhne is a chronist of her - and by extension our - inner agitation when confronted with nature and landscape. Her pictures are not illustrative, but nonetheless do function as mirrors. Both abstractly and concretely, they confront us with fully realized visual equivalents of our emotional attunement in the presence of creation."
