Das vorliegende Künstlerbuch wurde von Anne Hardy konzipiert und in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Londoner Grafikteam abäke gestaltet. Es versammelt Auszüge aus mehreren literarischen Werken ? Texte, die die Künstlerin schon lange begleiten und ihr Denken beeinflusst haben ? sowie umfangreiches Bildmaterial bestehend aus Skizzen, Arbeitsproben und visuelle Quellen der Inspiration. Als vielschichtige Sammlung läßt es die LeserInnen in die Gedankenwelten Anne Hardys eintauchen und dient als eine Art Handbuch zu ihrer visuellen Sprache. Ihre Bilder sind Dokumente verschwundener Orte und zeigen oft verwirrende räumliche Situationen voll von Spuren menschlicher Präsenz und rätselhafter Aktivitäten. Obwohl druckfrisch wirkt dieses Buch wie ein Detail aus einem der Interieurs, als gehöre es einer fiktiven ProtagonistIn, die jedoch auf verstörende Weise abwesend ist.

This artist book is based on a concept by Anne Hardy and was designed in close collaboration with the London graphics team abäke. It brings together extracts from several works of literature ? texts that have accompanied the artist for a significant part of her life and have influenced her thinking ? with numerous illustrations, including sketches, samples of work, and visual sources of inspiration. This varied collection allows readers to delve into Anne Hardy?s world of ideas and serves as a kind of guidebook to her visual language. Her pictures document places that have disappeared and often show confusing spatial situations full of traces of human presence and mysterious activity. Although the book is fresh of the press, it gives the impression that it was taken from one of the interiors constructed by the artist, perhaps left behind by a fictitious protagonist?
